What is The Ohio Capital Fund? The Ohio Capital FundSM, a fund of funds, was established by the State of Ohio in February 2005 to help increase private investment in Ohio companies in the seed or early stage of business development. The goal of the Ohio Capital Fund is to generate $100 million from private resources for investment in qualified venture capital funds, which, in turn will commit to invest at least half of such monies in Ohio-based companies, corporations and individuals. Once the fund of funds is capitalized, qualified venture capital funds will be identified and borrowed monies invested based upon the investment policy established by the OVCA.
